Investing through shares - Save, Invest and Earn

There are many factors that facilitate the strength and growth of a
country's economy and its saving and investment culture is another factor.
According to figures in the Bankers Association of Zimbabwe economic
bulletin, Zimbabwe's savings rate as a percentage of GDP is estimated at
less than 10%. This is very disturbing as savings and investments form a
foundation of a successful growing economy, seeking self-sufficiency in
providing for its citizens as well as creating certainty and financial
independence for its people. To grow the economy and to develop the means to
deal with the problems like poverty there is need to undertake a drive to
save and invest. <http://www.bulls.co.zw/> Read more >

Inflation seen slowing down in October

ZIMBABWE'S central bank expects inflation to start slowing by October and
believes current inflationary pressures are a temporary phenomenon despite
hitting a 10-year high of 56,9 % in January. "Yes, inflation has gone up in
January, but you also need to understand what drives this inflation. You
also need to understand if this inflation is a temporary thing or permanent
phenomenon. My take is that the inflation we are witnessing now is a
temporary phenomenon," Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) deputy director for
economic research, Nebson Mupunga, said at the Employers Confederation of
Zimbabwe breakfast meeting in Harare yesterday. <http://www.bulls.co.zw/>

CZI lobbies for currency trading platform

Zimbabwe's industrial representative body, the Confederation of Zimbabwe
Industries (CZI) is lobbying Government to avail a platform for businesses
to legally trade currency to cushion them from foreign currency shortages
that are chocking operations, CZI president Silefani Jabangwe has said.
During the fourth quarter of last year several businesses had either closed
down or resorted to selling their products in hard currency arguing that the
shortages were adversely affecting business operations. At its latest
manufacturing sector survey, the association said it was anticipating a dip
in capacity utilisation this year from the current 48 percent on the back of
foreign currency and the increasing costs of doing business, a situation
that Mr Jabangwe says could change if an efficient hard currency allocation
platform is availed for business. <http://www.bulls.co.zw/> Read more >
