Mozambique is building a reputation as an entrepreneurial centre where local, women owned brands can emerge and thrive. Fabrazilbyeunice, launched by Eunice Andrade, is one such retail brand, created to showcase local designers and product manufacturers in an environment where customers want to shop.



LoA found out more about this enterprising retail brand builder this month and her own business journey.

What does your company do?

At Fabrazilbyeunice, we sell swimming suits from Brazil and other local products such as the capulana. I help people who don’t have retail stores of their own to sell these products to customers. I work with local entrepreneurial partners such as Amorambique, Kitamba, Uzuri Creations and others.

What inspired you to start your company?

As I was a public figure, formerly a TV Presenter with 25 years working experience, I had knowledge about our local market and know that our products are of good quality.  I am now an empowered and enterprising woman looking to build a business and a brand that promotes and creates access to markets for local brands and products. 

Why should anyone use your service or product?

At first my business helped me to provide with another source of income, but now this store is my life and I put my clients on top of everything I do. 

Tell us a little about your team

I have three girls working with me; Ruth and Helena who work shifts and my beautiful daughter who is 21 and studying dental medicine at University, as the manager of the store.  She also has her own company making cupcakes, bouquet of flower cakes, amongst other things.

Share a little about your entrepreneurial journey. And, do you come from an entrepreneurial background?

My dream came true because I have seen many women’s dreams come true. I don’t have entrepreneurial experience, but I knew I could do this as I have made a name for myself as a TV presenter and am known in countries such as South Africa, Angola, Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, etc. 

What are your future plans and aspirations for your company?

I have a dream to open many stores around the country and in other provinces. 

What gives you the most satisfaction being an entrepreneur?

People see me empower other people, especially woman. 

What's the biggest piece of advice you can give to other women looking to start-up?
