President Mnangagwa is today set to officially commission the US$10 million
brick and tile manufacturing plant at Sino Zimbabwe Cement Company (SZCC) on
the outskirts of Gweru. Midlands Provincial Affairs Minister Senator Larry
Mavima confirmed the scheduled commissioning of the plant last night.

Italian investor for Cotton Printers and Nat Blankets   

AN INVESTOR from Italy has shown interest in investing in National Blankets
and Cotton Printers, two of Bulawayo's textile giants that have not been
operating for years, a Minister has said. Speaking at senior citizens day
organised by the Seventh Day Adventist church at the Small City Hall in
Bulawayo last week, Minister of State for Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Judith
Ncube said the investor visited her office recently and modalities are
already being worked out to resuscitate the two companies.

Masters Diapers deal falls through   

THE proposed US$2 million diaper manufacturing plant in Bulawayo has fallen
through due to failure to secure an undisclosed amount of foreign currency
to import raw materials. Masters Diapers Zimbabwe director Mr Nigam Desai,
whose envisaged project was the first of its kind in the city, told Business

Gold miners, Pablo's sign pact   

ZIMBABWE Miners' Federation (ZMF) has entered into a public private
partnership agreement with Pablo's Investments to establish a gold milling
centre in Shurugwi at a cost of $1 million. The milling plant is set to
benefit thousands of small-scale miners from the mining town and will see
them accessing various machines such as compressors, generators, pumps,
explosives and jack hammers amongst others free of charge.

Cassava eyes on-demand business boom   

LISTED technology driven concern, Cassava Smartech Zimbabwe says its growing
on-demand business is set for a boost with the coming on stream of
fully-fledged logistics services. The giant firm's chief executive officer,
Mr Eddie Chibi in a statement last week said, Cassava On Demand, which over
the past six months has been offering Vaya Mobility services, had started
rolling out Vaya Logistics services in earnest and was bullish over their

Zimbabwe frustrates Chinese investors

ZIMBABWE must improve its business environment if it is to receive any
meaningful investment from China, a senior diplomat has said. Following
years of condemnation by international financiers and Western governments
for gross human rights violations and failure to pay debts, Zimbabwe turned
to the Asian giant, which doled out billions in loans to Harare in exchange
for unchecked access to the country's vast mineral wealth.

New forex rules in the pipeline   

Zimbabwe has enough foreign currency for businesses to meet their foreign
payments if the interbank starts operating efficiently, Secretary for
Finance and Economic Development Mr George Guvamatanga has said. He said

US$120m tiles plant takes off   

A US$120 million tile manufacturing plant near Norton has gone full steam
ahead, barely eight months after management got the nod to set up base
locally. Sunny Yi Feng Tiles (Zimbabwe) is already operating three factories
that are making tiles, printing cardboard boxes for packaging the tiles and
logistical support, covering up to 75 percent of its capacity and is
