RBZ to increase cash in circulation   

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) intends to increase cash in circulation
after realising that shortages are excluding the informal sector, senior
citizens and rural folk from fully participating in the economy. RBZ
governor Dr John Mangudya said this yesterday in the 2019 Mid-Term Monetary
Policy Review Statement themed "Transition to Normalcy".

ZimChem Refiners bemoans imports   

KWEKWE-based tar producer, ZimChem Refiners (Pvt) Limited, says its products
are not receiving adequate support from the domestic market as businesses
still prefer imports. ZimChem is a subsidiary of both Hwange and Ziscosteel
and processes crude benzol and tar into a range of chemical products that
are used for road works and timber protection among others.

Mining indaba set for Bulawayo   

BULAWAYO will this week host the 8th edition of the 2019 Zimbabwe
Alternative Mining Indaba where stakeholders will discuss a range of issues

Civil servants cry foul . . . Price hikes erode incomes   

CIVIL servants have called on the Government to set a framework that
safeguards the value of salaries following the latest adjustments that have
triggered significant price increases. Government last month increased civil
servants' salaries by a massive 76 percent, a development that saw the

ZERA Closes Mufakose's Maps Fuel Station

In a tweeted statement Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority ZERA announced
that it has closed Mufakose's Maps Fuel Station for selling fuel in cash
only and supposedly denying other payment methods. ZERA said complaints by
consumers led them to the discovery of the anomaly which resulted in them
closing the service station pending investigations into possible operating

ZINARA wishes to advise the motoring public that we are experiencing serious
network challenges for mobile, debit card and ZINARA pre-paid card payments,
due to the present power challenges.This has seen long queues surface at

ZERA Seriously Consider Regulating Gas Prices

Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority mulls regulating gas prices, The Sunday
Mail reports. This is due to the fact that gas, as a commodity,  has become
an integral energy source for domestic and industrial use. ZERA's pricing
formula, which is set to be operational soon, is currently being fine-tuned
as per government regulations and standards. While the law required that
ZERA regulate gas prices, the energy authority had left the industry to self

ZB Bank Introduces WhatsApp Banking

ZB bank has introduced WhatsApp banking Sunday News reports. The bank which
was recently removed under sanctions is looking forward to launching
international cards in the near future. The bank signed an agreement with
Ria and in the near future will see people using the remittance service to

ZSE Ends The Week Bullish

The Zimbabwe stock exchange ended the week on a rebound as it closed the
week at $21.70 billion (+1.42%) The Standard reports. The publication
believes that if able investors take advantage of new developments that saw
USD-denominated Savings Bonds, as well as the upward review of the Overnight
Bank Rate from 50% to 70% being introduced, the bullish trend may persist
