The local unit was marginally weaker against the greenback as it remained
below the psychological ZWL85 mark. The total bids allotted rose 4.88% to
USD35.8m vs US$34.1m last week. 

 

On the alternative market the ZWL was stable in the week in the
ZWL120-ZWL122 band while most established retail outlets except big
supermarkets were still using a rate of ZWL110. Hardware shops and
wholesalers are still charging 118-120 while street money changers are at
130 for Ecocash or ZIPIT.
