Destined for Greatness: Your Tuesday Morning Inspiration with Gerald

'New normal" is now one of the most widely used global buzz phrases coined
in 2020 courtesy of the COVID 19 pandemic. We can relate to this because we
all see clearly that the way we do things have been completely altered. We
are learning new skills to effectively continue being productive using
virtual platforms, be it in business or schooling. Adapting to the "new
normal" is a prerequisite to continue being relevant. But far more noble and
glorious is knowing the "new person" you are in Christ as stated in 2
Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they have become a new
creation: the old has gone, the new is here"

Failure or success? Poverty or riches? Shame or honour? Which do you prefer?
Of course, you want success, riches, and honour. But it is far easier to
desire them than to get them. There is a basic requirement to get them, and
most of us fail to meet this condition because few are prepared to invest
the time to know the new creature they are in Christ.  This involve being
humble to learn, appreciate reproof and accept instruction. Most of us are
too proud, rebellious, or stubborn to appreciate reproofs or accept
instruction. We want to do things our way and love our own opinions. Solomon
in Proverbs warned over and over that your willingness to be corrected and
taught is the key to your future.

The lesson is simple; you arrived in life knowing nothing. Your heart and
motives are twisted by inherited corruption from the fall of Adam and Eve.
The world is filled with ignorance, superstition, and tradition. You are
assaulted daily with profane ideas, enticements, and actions. You will
self-destruct in ignorance without serious help. There is a simple technique
for success in a world doomed to failure. God has revealed the wisdom of
heaven to humanity. If you will find it and accept its correction and
teaching, you can deliver yourself from failure, poverty, and shame.
Intelligence or education are great to have, but unfortunately are no
substitute for the Word.

 Learning and progress requires change. Either you must correct errors you
have learned, or you must add new knowledge to your inventory. The first
requires accepting reproofs, and the second requires accepting new ideas
through instruction. Pride, rebellion, and stubbornness will not allow a
person to do either of these two things because it requires one to destroy
and pull down the strongholds of your mind, where you hold false ideas and
concepts which you ought to replace with truth and wisdom, you have not
heard or accepted before. Wisdom is submitting to reproofs and accepting
instruction, for that is the means of learning and growth. God and all good
men will honour such a person.
