Destined for Greatness: Your Tuesday Morning Inspiration with Gerald
Chinogara

 

 

Each time a challenge of epic proportions hit us, everything we thought we
knew is suddenly shaken, doubt can slither into our hearts without our full
awareness. Many of us have been beaten up by the world so much that we start
believing lies that we are not good enough. We beat ourselves up when we
fail. We cannot stop an addiction and we think God will never forgive us, so
we give up trying. Our kids aren't turning out as we planned, and we think
that we have done something wrong. We keep being passed over for a promotion
and we feel that we are not faithful enough in Gods eyes to get the blessing
to move forward. Don't despair as you are not alone, even the great prophet
Elijah reached a point in his life when he felt so defeated that he just
wanted to die. 

 

There may be a time in your life when you were brought low, a time that only
you and the Lord know about. Do not let that define you. Do not let that set
your course for a lifetime of defeat. Instead, put one foot in front of the
other and though you feel unworthy, determine in your heart to try again.
The Lord will hold you up with his strong right arm. He will set your course
and make straight your path. Defeat will humble a person, but with the help
of the Lord, there is hope, restoration, and a victorious future. We must
know that the past is part of who we are and helped shape us into what we
are today; but it does not have to define the rest of our lives. Yesterday
is already in the past and dead. God allowed us to walk through the problems
of yesterday so that we can be part of His solution today.

 

When the Father looks at us, He does not see what we see. He sees our
potential in His hands. A young man named Gideon is a perfect example of
this. The Israelites were in trouble and the Midianites were oppressing them
at every turn. Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress hiding from the
Midianites when the Lord showed up to talk with him. Gideon was from the
weakest clan of Manasseh, the smallest of his clan. Yet when the angel of
the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty
warrior." God knew what Gideon would become if he would allow the Lord to
work in his life. When Gideon put his life into the Master's hands and
trusted Him, he became the instrument of deliverance for the people of
Israel.

 

I believe one of the reasons why God leads us into divine orchestrated
adventures along life's path is that through these real-life experiences, He
paints a picture of His indescribable love. He teaches us more about His
character and His plans for our lives. Those who stay in their safe routines
and never risk climbing out of the rut don't seem to experience His deity as
intense as those who venture forth, leaning on His promises and not much
else.  So, what are you waiting for? Are you willing to place your life in
the Almighty God's hands and completely trust Him? You will be amazed at
what happens if you will.  When we place ourselves in God's hands, the
possibilities are truly endless.

 

Gerald is an astute business leader, strategic marketer by profession and a
motivator by calling. Currently he is Head of Marketing & Alternative
Distribution Channels for Old Mutual Zimbabwe. He has over 15 years diverse
business experience at senior and executive management in leading corporate
companies in Zimbabwe.
